Kidz Safari

It's the day. All teachers, helpers and volunteers were asked to be in church by 8am.

I had a booth to take care of - Elephant Trail. Everyone was so excited. We were told to try on our own game before the children arrives. Well, I can't play mine as my game was a partner game, 3 legged game. How to play by myself and my partner was not there yet.

So, I went round played others' games and took pictures also lar... :D

When the children arrived, they need to register themselves and guess the weight of the cake, a real cake. Aunty Chris baked the cake. It was 3kg.

So, the event started. All were having a lot of fun. My booth was not as busy as others. We did some promotion, better. We had these loyal customers kept coming back. Reasons: no need to line-up so long and already expert in the game. They wanted to earn the token and change for MP3. And they did it, finally. Both of them had MP3.

There was a break just before lunch. Kids were told to go in for a video. I guessed, they were restless and still wanted to play. Just before the next session started, a lot of them were lining-up for Crocodile Alert. Poor Uncle Rajen. He announced that his stall will opened 4 minutes later, and we could all all the kids gave a loud sigh.

And the fun continued. We had lunch without lunch break. So, we ate when there were no one came to play or took turn. It was during this time, I went to play the Splash. I threw at Cornelius and couldn't hit him. Then, he asked me to had my face were put at on the tiger body and Cornelius threw at me. Gosh.. so exact... geee..... It's fun. Well, I couldn't play more as I had a booth to take care of.

Not long after that. The rain started. It was about 12.30pm. So, we went to other stalls, those with tents and inside the educational block.

The entire event ended about 2pm. And we have to tear down for Chinese church in the evening. Well, we didn't took all down as Aspirer's is having their 25th anniversary on Sunday and their theme is on animals/ jungle as well.

We were all so exhausted. But, we think it's worth it. I had fun too. :) Good work, all.

Pre Kidz Safari

Took the day off to (i) clear leave, (ii) go church, and (iii) help out on Kidz Safari preparation. Quite a number of people (colleagues and friends even family) were surprised that I took leave. As normally, I will give advance notice to 'the whole world' when I plan to take leave. Expect the unexpected mar... haha...

Before church, went to Bukit Kepayang with Fong. I think I almost died, as I think the weather was really humid and I couldn't take it.

Kidz Safari is purely fun time for kidz. A few recon that there was nothing done for the kids and so, we shall make this. Also, it is to attract more kids to come to our children church. If not mistaken, we targeted about 70 kidos.

We went to church after that. Cheng, Seet Kwan, Frakie, Saw Meng and a few boys were there already. I went to office to do some accounts and some office work (I know, I was supposed to be on leave).

Before that Aunty Chris, Cheng, Fong, Aunty Cherry and all had done the painting of the animals. And now, it's the time to put them. Then, tried out on some games.

The crocodiles kept over turned and I sms a few of my colleagues to help. They are engineers, hoping they can help. Still, I have tried those that they told me. Felt really frustrated. Then, Aunty Chris said, just put at the side, and it works. hahaha.... :D

There were more Aspirers by then. They came after school. And I ran back to office on and off to check email and did some work.

Then, it started to rain and we were almost done.

It was surely a tiring day. I don't think it was any better than sitting in the office at all.

Donut

I was offered donuts after TMT meeting (leftover). But, I don't mind at all. Still food. I opened it about 9-ish-pm though I was not very hungry still, as I had CTO's lunch (shared with her) as my dinner earlier. Low and behold, 5 donuts?!! I couldn't finish them at all. Gee.... Maybe I can take one. But, not all.... Then, I started to sms a few ppl asking if they were working late as me. And none... Should I put in the fridge? Well, who will eat them the next day. Think... think... think... And I was skyping with Fong... Still... solution... Finally, I decided to bless four of them to the guards. Yeah!! I didn't waste the food and I blessed somebody. :)

Gunung Datuk, again

Remembered I said that I aint climbing no more? Guess what? I went to Gunung Datuk instead. I must be so crazy. Well, I have not much choice since I was crazy enough to book ticket and arrange for Mt. Kinabalu in July. Have to train lar..

Gunung Datuk located at Rembau and it is actually about 870m high.

Well, from the July climb team, only Sherine and Karim came which was a great encouragement for me. We joined the climb team from church where they will go in July as well. In fact, they are going 1 day earlier than us.

Karim & Sherine drove from KL. And Karim was sick. Wow... It tells me that they take the climb seriously.

People are so excited. Start preparing. We have to pay a registration fee of RM3 for the climb. And I saw this bridge was built. It wasn't there when I was there last year. We had to walk a little further and go through by the rocks.

This picture was so deceiving (as Karim said). We were so tired, and Karim was so pale, yet we smiled(?). Yet, he managed to keep up with us.

I didn't take any photos on the way there. Except when we are near there as I saw the sun shining through the leaves and form a wonderful pictures. We were kinda 'wet' by the time we reached the top. We took 1.50 hours to reach there which is normal.

Rested awhile and continue to aim for the peak.

I must say it was magnificent. Karim and Sherine sat at the peak enjoying the view and in their deep thoughts or letting their imagination running wild. For me, I still cannot see Straits of Malacca. There were so many people at the peak. Some Geologist students from UKM.

Sherine sprained her ankle on the way down. Gosh... It must be so painful. We took 1.50 hours to reach the foot hill as well. I fall at least 3 times. Initially, I fall when I had evil thoughts. Knowing me, I just thought or verbalised, have no action. Then, I stopped. Still, I fall. Alamak... what's happening?? God is punishing??

I also got bitten on my finger by an insect. Ouch!! I have to pull it out as it just refused to go away.

Then, we had to go off without joining the makan session since Karim had to go back to office for work. And I had to go to church by 4pm for Missionettes.

It was a good climb. I enjoyed it. Of course, I suffered pain.

With the pain, I still went to Bkt. Kepayang with Fong on Monday morning before the Cat & Dog Theology. Both of us must have walked so weird that a lot of people just looked at us one kind. I felt the pain. Especially in church when pastors make us stand and sit and stand and sit... gosh.. killing me....

The next plan is to go to Gunung Angsi on 7 June. errh..... I don't like there. Maybe I will go if there's no rain a day or two before.

Norwegian National Day

The actual day should be on 17 May. We celebrated on Friday instead. :) The few Norwegian in office had their families over. Ole gave a short speech and national anthem was sang. It was really good that we celebrate the national day together. Not just 31 Aug, but, also national day of others.

New Acting CTO

Saw this fella before we went out lunch. He wasn't sitting at CTO's seat initially, until 'The Spaceship' came and attacked (some project team having meeting).

Then, when we came back from lunch. He was sleeping (!!!!!!!!) at CTO's seat. Wow... and I took so many pictures. We laughed so loud.

I salute the courage!

Take Care

Li-lian was one of the regulars to the Friday's Fellowship. She was the secretary for our CF and she will send reminder. On top of that, in 2008, we started to meet on every Monday morning to spend 30 minutes praying. Our relationship grew.

I came to know that she is leaving us. We prayed about it though I very much would like her to stay. Maybe I was selfish. I just didn't want to lose my prayer partner and my sister. At the end, she still left us. For me, I was sad to know the fact. However, I was happy that she has heard and knew the direction from God.

Li-lian, you have been a blessings. May you continue to grow in the Lord and continue to be a blessings to others. Take care till we meet again. GBU.

Derailed

It's 1st Saturday of the month where I will need to be in church to teach Missionettes. It should start at 4pm and I was running late. I only left my house at about 3.50pm. I knew I will be late for maybe 5 minutes.

Well, when I reached Bukit Emas, I saw the heavy traffic and knew I will be late for more than 5 minutes. And I was wondering why jam. Well, it's already common that it will be heavy traffic on Saturday, but, not at that hour. Then, I was telling myself, maybe it's due to the upgrade of the road works, maybe a lot of people took Friday off (like me), maybe accident (?! - that's the worst thing I can think of).

Then, I saw a lot of cars and people standing on the right side of the road. I am thinking surely this is accident already. I turned to where the crowd was and saw this train was derailed. 2 coaches plunged down (in fact 4 of them, 1 coach and 1 locomotive to the other side) to where the Rahang River is. The scene was scary. An ambulance was there. In my heart, I just hope that no one died. And I moved on to church. Then, I saw a fire engine going to the scene. So, I knew the incident just happened. Gosh... It was horrible!!

As I finished the class and heading home at about 5.30pm. Police blocked the roads. And I have to re-route to go home. Then, I saw this blue police jeep (the one they normally use to carry dead body), that's bad. As I re-routed and exit from Bukit Emas, the same jeep passed by in front of me, but this time, I saw a body in plastic bag was in the jeep. It was horrible. The driver of the train was killed.

As I passing the same scene the next day to church, the coaches where still there. Still many people at the scene. And there were 2 crane trying to lift up the coaches. Tent was set-up for those helping. I think it will take days to clear.

As I think of it, really thank God for His protection as we used to take train to Singapore.

On leave

I took leave and stayed at home. Still so busy went here and there.

I came back from bank and saw Baba was arranging the bricks. Working hard. Those bricks were not light at all. I asked him why, there's no reason given.

Then, we went to Pasar Malam (night market) later in the evening. I have not been to any Pasar Malam for awhile. hmm... All the food. Looks so tempting.

Labour Day

Went to Kepayang Hill with Fong again and we saw some Indian stores setting up and more to come. Also, Indians were going up the hill as well. We have had no clue what special day was it for Indian.

It's a crowded day.
